Since it’s a Friday and I’m bored, I have decided to make up an rumor. What if Darren Cox is leaving Nissan to join Red Bull Racing F1 to head their rumored Honda engine deal. He has experience at a Japanese car company. His GT Academy experience could help the Red Bull development program. The “fish” from his tweet could be racing engineers.

Ronnie D. already said no to the Honda deal. Seems (to me) like they’ll either patch things up with Renault or take a year off.

It's going be interesting to see what Red Bull does for an engine. Some engine supplier somewhere is gonna get lots of ass kissing from RB over the next few months. Good thing they are a drink manufacturer, cause they are will be rinsing their mouths out a lot this winter.

Well based on how much finger pointing McLaren has been doing it wouldn’t surprise me if Honda don’t want Ronnie’s D anymore. And I’m sure some “convincing” from Bernie would do the trick. The word “no” has a strange alternate meaning this time of year in F1.
Of course that is all my wishful thinking. So you could very well be correct with the Renault part (seems the most likely route). A year off doesn’t seem feasible from a technical standpoint since they would fall behind a lot if they took a year off.
